MEXICO HUNTS

Despite what most people believe about hunting in Mexico, these hunts are easily accessed via a flight into Hermosillo, Sonora. Upon arrival at the Hermosillo airport you will be met by someone who speaks English, has all the paperwork for your firearm to enter Mexico, and will help you through customs with your firearm. After which they will take you to the ranch you will be hunting. With the correct paperwork this is a very simple process and is only slowed down by the number of hunters arriving on your flight.

Desert Mule Deer and Coues Deer Hunts

Our dessert mule deer and coues deer hunts are on private ranches located in the province of Sonora, Mexico. The mule deer and coues deer season run concurrently in Mexico beginning the end of November and continuing through the end of January. With access to over 100,000 acres, Double Diamond Outfitters has some excellent country with monster mule deer and coues deer. Over the past several years our average mule deer has been between 28" and 34" wide, with our coues deer scoring well over 100".

Desert Bighorn

The desert bighorn sheep is one of the the most majestic and sought after sheep in all of North America. Unfortunately the availability of Desert Bighorn tags in the United States has become very limited, and quite costly. Because of this, Double Diamond Outfitters is offering Desert Bighorn Sheep hunts in Hermosillo, Mexico. These hunts are 10 days long, taking special care to only harvest mature rams. The ranches we hunt in Hermosillo have some great rams and are a great Sheep hunting alternative to the United States.

Goulds Turkey

Beginning in the spring of 2007, Double Diamond Outfitters now offers a limited number of goulds turkey hunts. The goulds turkey is the largest and most callable of the subspecies, weighing between 19 and 25 pounds. The season for goulds turkey begins in mid April and runs through the end of May. For anyone looking for a Royal Slam this is one of the best opportunities, but it is in very beautiful and rugged terrain, so come prepared for walking.
