Where are you located?
I’m not a ranch owner. I’m a Texas-based hunting outfitter & I have multiple ranches in South Texas, the Hill Country, and West Texas. I’ve also got a big ranch in Northern Coahuila Mexico, just South of Big Bend National Park.
I have been doing this since 2005 and have a wide network of ranches that I work with. When you book a hunt with me, you and your group will have exclusive rights to the ranch for the duration of your hunt. I’ve got some of the best private ranches in Texas.
How big are your ranches?
In West Texas, I’ve got over 500,000 acres.
In the Hill Country, my ranches vary in size but the smallest high fence ranch I regularly hunt is 3,600 acres.
In Mexico, I’ve got 500,000 contiguous acres.
What species do you hunt & where?
I’ve got free-range aoudad, pronghorn, desert mule deer, javelina, some elk and a few Carmen Mountain whitetail & desert bighorn in West Texas. Most of my exotic hunts (30-40 species) are in the Hill Country. My turkey hunts & whitetail hunts are in the Hill Country & South Texas. In Mexico, I’ve got Carmen Mountain whitetail, some desert mule deer and desert bighorn.
Are your ranches high-fence or free-range?
I’ve got both. All of my country in West Texas and Mexico is free-range. The majority of my exotics, except free-range aoudad, are high fence.
How do I send my deposit?
You can mail a check, Venmo, PayPal or wire transfer. Please contact me directly for specific instructions on sending your deposit.
Are credit cards accepted?
Yes credit cards are accepted, but all the prices listed are CASH prices. Any/all service fees added for any transaction, typically about 4% for credit cards, will be added to the total cost of the hunt.
How does the booking process work?
Once I get your deposit you go on my calendar & I’ll send you a contract & release via DocuSign. You sign them electronically and are emailed an executed copy of the contract.
Can dates be held without a deposit?
Unfortunately, no. I’m not able to hold dates for anyone without a deposit.
Can I see the contract, and any other documents that need to be signed, prior to sending my deposit?
Sure! Just give me a call and send me your email address and I’ll be happy to send you a copy of all the docs you will sign prior to sending your deposit.
When is my remaining balance due?
For all of my hunts that have trophy fees, those fees are due prior to departing the ranch and can be paid in cash, cashier check, money order, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal or wire transfer. No personal checks are accepted for trophy fees unless approved prior to arrival.
For all of my flat rate hunts, the final payment is due prior to arrival. You can send your final payment via wire, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, cashier check, money order, or personal check. Deposits for my Spring aoudad and javelina hunts, as well as my Spring turkey hunts, are due Feb 1. Deposits for my Fall aoudad, javelina, and pronghorn hunts are due Aug 1. Deposits for my Winter aoudad and mule deer hunts are due Nov 15
When does my hunt start/end?
All of my hunts start at 1:30 on the first day of your hunt and end after the morning hunt on the last day of your hunt (unless previous arrangements have been made).
Where do I travel to for my hunt?
For hunts in West Texas, fly into Midland/Odessa or El Paso, rent a car. It’s about a 3-hour drive to any of my ranches. If you’re driving, head towards Alpine, TX.
For Texas hunts in the Hill Country, fly into San Antonio and rent a car. It’s about a 2-hour drive to any of my ranches. If you’re driving, head toward Kerrville, TX.
For hunts in Mexico, fly or drive into Del Rio and we will fly to the ranch from there.
What is included in my hunt?
All of my hunts are fully guided, except my turkey hunts. All meals, lodging, guide, transportation around the ranch and field care of your trophy is included.
My turkey hunts are semi-guided allowing you to call/hunt as you wish.
What is not included in my hunt?
Transportation to and from the ranch, skinning/caping/quartering your animal(s), transporting your animal to the taxidermist/processor, shipping of hide/horns/meat, and CITES paperwork is not included in your hunt. Also not included are drinks, other than coffee and water. Please make arrangements to bring your own.
What happens after I send my deposit and receive my signed contract?
Once you receive your signed contract, your hunt is booked and you’re on my calendar. Unless you have questions and call/text me you won’t hear much from me until a few weeks/days before your hunt. As your hunt gets closer, I’ll decide what ranch we will be hunting and will drop a pin on a map and text it to you. That pin will take you right to the gate. I’ll either meet you at the gate or I’ll give you the combo and tell you where to meet me.
What are your re-booking and cancellation policies?
All deposits are non-refundable. If something comes up and you’re not able to make your hunt, and I’m able to re-book your hunt, the re-booking fee is 20% of the total cost of your hunt. If I’m not able to re-book your hunt your deposit is forfeit. For that reason, I strongly suggest purchasing travel insurance and will send you a link to Ripcord Rescue Travel Insurance.
